Frequently Asked Questions

Where and when can you conduct a ceremony?

I can conduct ceremonies pretty much anywhere (except consecrated ground). Whether indoors or outdoors, there are few restrictions, though a Plan B for bad weather is always a good idea! If you’re considering a location outside of a crematorium or cemetery, your Funeral Director, wedding planner or I can help. Just ensure you have permission for your chosen spot, and your dream ceremony location can become a reality, at any time of day.

Are celebrant conducted weddings legally recognised in the UK?

Unfortunately, in the UK, celebrants do not have the legal authority to perform the actual marriage ceremony. This is something the government is reviewing, and changes may come in the future to bring the UK in line with celebrant-led ceremonies in countries like the USA, Australia, and New Zealand.

A celebrant wedding means that you’ll still need to complete the legal marriage process, which many couples prefer to do at a registry office before their celebrant-led ceremony. However, this can be done beforehand or on the day of your ceremony—just make sure the legal part happens at some point! The celebrant-led ceremony itself will be the heart of your celebration, and I can lead you through everything, including the exchange of rings, vows, and any special rituals you’d like to include.

How can I personalise my ceremony?

You can personalise your ceremony by choosing unique rituals, writing personalised vows, and incorporating special touches that reflect your relationship.

Do you provide pre-wedding consultations?

Yes, I offer pre-wedding consultations to discuss your vision, preferences, and any special requests for your ceremony. Your day should reflect your wishes, and I’ll ensure you're happy with every part of the ceremony, making it truly yours.

Do you offer pre-planning services for funerals?

Yes, I offer pre-planning services for funerals, with a fee of £120. Through meeting with you, I’ll take the time to understand your wishes and create a funeral plan and script that truly reflects your unique character and quality. Pre-planning can help your loved ones to feel reassured that they are planning a funeral that they would be proud of.
